Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who should join the club, do I need to be an experienced sailor?
A: Anyone can join LSC, we require no proposing or seconding and no experience is needed. We have a large number of members who are new to sailing and/or haven’t sailed for a long time but would like to get back into it.
Q: If I become a member do I still need boat insurance?
A: Yes our club insurance will not cover your boat for damage. We have a number of insurers who we are aware of that will provide deposit waiver insurance. Ask a member at the next social for details.
Q: What does the club spend their funds on?
A: Our main cost is insurance to cover the committee for directors liability and members for accidental injury while sailing. We also pay for meetup, web hosting, RYA membership and other linked costs. More detail is in our annual report.
